This year, the jury placed priority emphasis on the synergistic relationship between architecture, tourism and local everyday life, said the Society of Architects Zagreb (DAZ) and added that the awards in this year’s ARTUR 2017 cycle wanted to promote projects that primarily bring a different and innovative approach; both the treatment of the tourist offer and its architectural articulation. “Our choice should be a stimulus to sites and facilities that are not an integral part of the conventional and commercial offer, and which therefore require greater courage and greater skill of both the designer and the investor.” pointed out from the DAZ.The ARTUR 2017 award in the category of Preliminary Projects in Architecture and Tourism went to Camp Punta Nova on Cape Rastovac in the municipality of Povljana, otherwise the first “green field” project of the camp in Croatia based on the application of the so-called. green technologies as well as declared as a strategic state project. “The Camp Punta Nova project brings back to the game the theme of the camp, which in recent times was perceived only as a spent relic of mass tourism in the 70s and 80s of the 20th century. The project clearly recognizes the need for “up-date” of such a typology in accordance with today’s needs of tourism – active vacation, mobility; as well as today’s environmental standards – attention and care for the natural environment, reduction of fossil fuel pollution, wastewater recycling…”Stands out as an argument to the award given by the jury, which was composed of Jasenka Kranjčević, Dafna Berc and Alan Kostrenčić.last_img
