first_img The Valley on ESPN3 Box Score (PDF) Photo Gallery vs. Indiana State University 11/23/2017 – 5 p.m. Preview Next Game: Watch Livecenter_img Live Stats DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University volleyball team fell to in-state foe UNI, 3-0, Saturday evening in the Knapp Center in the regular-season finale for both teams.Drake (23-9, 12-6 MVC) competed through three close sets but fell by set scores of 25-17, 28-26 and 25-19.The Bulldogs were led by senior Odessa Cody (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Cathryn Cheek who both put up a team-high 12 kills. In one of her best performances of the season, Cody recorded her season-best kills on 27 attacks to hit .370 in her final match at the Knapp Center.  Cheek recorded a career-high six blocks while just missing a double-double with nine digs.Senior Kyla Inderski (Urbandale, Iowa) further padded her career stats adding seven kills for a career total of 1,428 kills that ranks second in school history and 25th among active NCAA Division I athletes. Inderski’s 13 digs moved her career total to 1,512, the fourth most in school history.UNI (25-7, 15-3 MVC) hit an impressive .246 while holding the Drake offense to below .200 hitting. Weber had a game-high 14 kills while Karlie Thomas hit .308 to record 12 kills while adding 15 digs. Piper Thomas joined the duo in double-digits recording 10 kills.The Bulldogs will travel to Normal, Ill., for their first MVC Tournament appearance since 2010. The tournament is scheduled to take place Nov. 23-25.
